“Smart Class”
– a revolution in the educational system has come into vogue as it has come
as a handy tool in the hands of the teaching faculty to do away with the
boredom and the drab monotony of the conventional methods of teaching which
is limited to the use of blackboard, chalk, charts & the like.
With the conviction
that sight accompanied by sound would arrest the interest and the straying
attention of the little ones, the idea of applying this emerging technology
has first been conceived in the year 2001. Toying with this idea, a small
theatre has been set up on an experimental basis. It did seem to work out
wonderfully well & in the year 2008 – 09, the system has been installed in
all the kindergarten class rooms.

There has been a
resounding response from the students as well as the parents. The way
the students learned the rhymes by singing in tune with the displayed
rhymes, conversation & the stories etc., have made the teaching –
learning process very effective, innovative and interesting. This
prompted the school to convert all the 1st std. classes to ‘smart class
rooms’ during 2009 – 10. Encouraged by the instant success of the
project, the school has gone ahead with the setting up of mini – LCD
theatres with projectors, in its buildings, so that students of the
other classes could also avail this facility. Students would move to
these theatres during the ‘Visual class’ and practically see the things
taught in the classrooms. Active support has been received from Eureka,
a Content Development Team based in Hyderabad, which has offered their
licensed educational softwares.

The successful execution of the scheme
has been carried out under the able guidance of Educomp Solutions (P)
Ltd., & the e–learning contents with the related textual contents have
been supported by Compu – Gen, a unit of Brilliant Tutorials (P) Ltd.,
Chennai. Enthused by the constructive feedback from the students, the
school has daringly ventured to launch “Amal Vision” – an educative
channel to be viewed within the school – this academic year (ie.) 2010 –
’11. This day we are proud to declare that all our 140 classrooms
housing the classes from L.K.G. to XII std. have been converted into
Smart Class rooms with high end electronic gadgets and computer
hardwares.
The said Smart Class project has been developed by the school in two
different phases – Computer Network & Video Network.
